‘I agree’: Alan Shearer and Micah Richards agree on where Nottingham Forest will finish this season

Nottingham Forest’s 2024/25 Premier League campaign is about to begin, and the Reds are ready to do it all over again.

Forest’s summer preparations have been a success, with lots of action on and off the ground.

Nuno Espirito Santo has added six new players this summer after a relegation-threatened 2023/24 season.

And it might soon increase to seven signings, with Forest nearing completion on a deal for Ramon Sosa as he undergoes his physical.

However, given how close the club came to relegation the previous time out, there will be some legitimate concerns.

Where Alan Shearer and Micah Richards believe Nottingham Forest will finish.

The Reds have had an amazing summer, but all of their preparations will be for naught if they cannot perform on the field.

However, the efforts have been made behind the scenes, with Anthony Elanga describing how severe Nuno’s training sessions were in the Spanish heat.

And it appears like Forest’s work over the summer may have impressed Alan Shearer and Micah Richards enough to influence their projections.

The BBC Sport duo spoke on The Rest is Football podcast about their expectations for the relegation battle this season.

“I’ve got them in a relegation struggle, but I believe they’ll have enough, just. “Something similar to last season,” Shearer explained.

“I agree with Alan on that one,” Richards said.

Can Nottingham Forest avoid relegation this season?

The Reds surely have the quality to avoid relegation, but there are some genuinely strong teams emerging in the Premier League’s bottom half.

Most parties are spending money in order to maximize their chances of survival.

Forest are seeking for a new striker, and Eddie Nketiah is the latest player to be linked with a move to the City Ground.

that’s unclear whether he can make a difference, but if Chris Wood can produce like he did last season, that would be a major boost.

Losing a big name player in the last weeks of the window would be devastating, but Forest have done almost everything they can this summer to give themselves a good chance of survival.
