Former player David Norris believes Jurgen Klopp’s new employment at Red Bull could have a negative impact on Leeds United.

Klopp, a decorated former Liverpool manager, has agreed to join the company as Head of Global Soccer on January 1, assuming strategic leadership of the Red Bull clubs, which include Leipzig, Salzburg, and New York.

The substantial connection between the energy drinks giant and Leeds United implies a possible occasional interaction with Daniel Farke and the team, which Norris, speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, regards as interference.

“On paper, it sounds like a nice thing. It would be interesting to watch how hands-on Klopp is at these Red Bull clubs, given that he is a football manager, and what the role entails,” he remarked.

“However, I grew up supporting Liverpool, and I recall when Gerard Houllier came in to assist Roy Evans; it was just a matter of time before Houllier took over. Obviously, I don’t anticipate it to happen with Klopp, since it’s a completely different role, but it could just be added pressure for Farke.

“Unless they’re friends and they’ve had a prior working relationship, Farke might not appreciate any kind of outside influence, no matter who they are.”

Jurgen Klopp’s impact on Leeds United is so yet uncertain.

While Klopp’s role will encompass a wide range of clubs and everyday responsibilities, Leeds remain an enigma in the circumstance because they are not part of the “empire,” with Red Bull the only minority investor thus far.

Among the concerns, Farke has come out and clarified his perspective on the matter, ensuring that the “philosophy” would not be significantly altered [16 October].

BBC journalist Adam Pope even said that Klopp may make a stunning switch to Elland Road as manager [14 October] if the club is promoted to the Premier League, meaning that nothing is impossible.
