In recent days, there have been reports linking Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou to the soon-to-be vacant Liverpool manager’s position.

According to Sky Sports, the Spurs head coach is ‘one of the names being bandied around to take over at Liverpool’ at the end of the season.

This assumption stems from Postecoglou’s excellent work at Tottenham and prior clubs such as Celtic, as well as the fact that he was once a “massive Liverpool fan”.

However, when asked about the links during Friday’s press conference, Postecoglou stated that he is only getting started at Spurs.

“I’ve only been here for seven months, so I think that is self-explanatory,” Tottenham’s manager stated ahead of Saturday’s match against Wolves.

“I am at pains to say that we still have a long way to go in terms of the football we want to play, the team we want to be and the squad we want to have.”

Fabrizio Romano has now attempted to ease Tottenham’s remaining concerns over Postecoglou’s future in the wake of reports linking him to Anfield.

The transfer insider, writing on CaughtOffside, claims the 58-year-old is “very happy” at Spurs and is unaware of any interaction between the manager and other clubs.

“Ange Postecoglou put any rumours of him wanting to leave Tottenham to go to Liverpool to bed in his recent press conference, and guys I’ve nothing on Postecoglou and Liverpool so far,” stated Romano in a statement.

“He is quite pleased at Tottenham, and I am not aware of any contacts with other clubs.

“He was also very much involved in talks to convince Lucas Bergvall to join Spurs for example, so it doesn’t look like a worrying situation to me.”

    Good news for Spurs fans!

It’s fantastic to hear that Postecoglou is enjoying life at Tottenham and has no plans to leave anytime soon.

The Australian has taken Spurs by the scruff of the neck and built a solid club capable of finishing in the top four this season.

Not only that, but Postecoglou has done miracles in the transfer market, bringing in some great quality to join the other intriguing young players that Tottenham has signed in recent years.

Postecoglou is constructing something extraordinary at Spurs, and he is only getting started.
