‘Here we go’: Fabrizio Romano provides ‘new exclusive detail’ about Leeds leaving

Fabrizio Romano says that Jack Harrison’s loan move from Leeds United to Everton does not feature a permanent option.

According to the Italian journalist on Twitter (24 June), the Whites winger’s transfer has been signed and “sealed,” and the Toffees intend to make the move permanent in the future.

The Englishman returns to Sean Dyche’s team after Leeds failed to secure Premier League promotion; he also spent last season on loan at Goodison Park.

Romano wrote: “Jack Harrison, new Everton player, as all paperwork is signed — here we go confirmed.

“New exclusive detail: it’s a loan move from Leeds United with no buy option…” However, there is a real possibility of making it permanent in the future. “The deal is sealed.”

Leeds United winger joins Sean Dyche at Goodison Park.

In football terms, Harrison’s departure may be disappointing, but it was always expected this summer, one way or another.

The primary issue for Daniel Farke and the Elland Road leadership is that his loan-exit clause was still active due to the club remaining in the second tier, which means there will be no transfer money during the current window.

Even if the Whites had advanced to the next season, the 27-year-old would have been unlikely to return, but Willy Gnonto’s reintegration last season and the assumption that Brenden Aaronson is on his way back in demonstrate it isn’t impossible.

Instead, the door was left open for the Toffees to solve a pressing need at no cost, with Leeds United having almost no say in the matter, despite being expected to cover his full salary.

So far, the attention has been on who will not play for Farke next season, with the sale of players like as Crysencio Summerville still a possibility.

However, fans of the club will be curious to watch how the squad will be rebuilt in order to improve next season and recover from the play-off final defeat to Southampton.
