Micky van de Ven, a Tottenham defender, is like Superman encased in a Rolls-Royce, as evidenced by his performance against Everton.

Süleyman Öztürk, a journalist, commended the Tottenham player in comments conveyed by Voetbal Zone.

Van de Ven has impressed since joining Tottenham from Wolfsburg in the summer, and after recovering from injury, he has re-established himself in the heart of Ange Postecoglou’s team in recent weeks.

He maintained his meteoric rise with another brilliant performance in the weekend’s 2-2 draw with Everton, displaying all of his strengths in a tricky match at Goodison Park.

In addition to his ball control and ease playing out of the back, he proved to be a defensive rock, rarely allowing Dominic Calvert-Lewin or Jack Harrison an opportunity.

One occasion saw him race back to deny the latter when he appeared to be clean through, chewing up the ground with an incredible short distance sprint that has had many people talking about and comparing him to Usain Bolt.
Öztürk feels Tottenham’s player has the potential to challenge the Man of Tomorrow in the future.

“Van de Ven was singled out because they were all impressed by his speed,” he told reporters.

“He easily protects areas of 50 to 60 meters. Three or four times in this encounter, he overcame a large disadvantage, including against Everton midfielder Jack Harrison.

“Harrison was about ten or fifteen meters ahead when Mickey van de Ven turned on the turbo and overtook him, preventing further damage with a terrific tackle.

“Virgil van Dijk was once referred to as a Rolls-Royce, and Gary Lineker repeated the comparison during the broadcast.” They are quite impressed with Van de Ven’s quickness and the manner he currently appears in Tottenham’s backline on a weekly basis.

“He also impressed against Manchester City a week and a half ago, as well as in this encounter against Everton. It’s incredible to see how far he’s come; he’s like Superman in a Rolls-Royce.”
