Nottingham Forest manager Nuno reacts on Taiwo Awoniyi.
Before the game, Forest manager Nuno provided an encouraging report on Taiwo Awoniyi’s situation.
Awoniyi is recovering from a groin injury, and Nuno is hesitant to take undue risks with the former Liverpool prospect, but he has noticed that the striker is improving.
Nuno remarked of Awoniyi, as published by NottinghamshireLive: “He is closer. Everyone is aware of what occurred to Taiwo; he was out for an extended period of time owing to injury and then began playing more than he should have due to squad circumstances.
“He’s progressing. The decision not to start him was based on his performance in the previous FA Cup game, where he played 90 minutes and had a short recovery period. But he finished the game nicely on Saturday and is OK.”
