Mark Schwarzer believes there is a Liverpool player who can slot in anywhere after his performance on Sunday as the Reds grabbed a huge win in the Premier League title battle.

Jurgen Klopp’s side has secured a critical three points following their heartbreaking setback last week.

Liverpool also had to reply after Arsenal’s victory on Saturday.

Klopp made some bold decisions ahead of the trip to Craven Cottage, originally leaving Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez on the bench.

Liverpool star can play practically anyplace.

Trent Alexander-Arnold opened the score with a moment of brilliance.

Following a foul by Joao Palhinha, the 25-year-old fired a magnificent free kick into the top corner from just outside the Fulham penalty area.

Alexander-Arnold is well-known for his ability to perform at his peak. And Liverpool needed him to strike the ground running following Conor Bradley’s injury against Crystal Palace.

He absolutely accomplished that. And, speaking on BBC Radio Five Live, Mark Schwarzer claimed that Gareth Southgate merely needs to select the defender for Euro 2024 this summer.

“If he is fit, Trent Alexander-Arnold must be in the squad. He can play just about anywhere. I know some may doubt his defense, but he is talented and has to be on the plane,” he remarked.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is always likely to receive some type of criticism.

Alexander-Arnold is one of those who will almost certainly face criticism. He takes significant chances in possession and is constantly attempting to make things happen.

As Schwarzer implies, Alexander-Arnold can play as a right-back or push forward into the middle of the field. He can pull strings in either job.

He has demonstrated how vital he may be to Liverpool in the closing games of the season.

And if his performance against Fulham is any indication of what’s to come before the season ends, the Reds have a real opportunity of pulling off one last surprise under Jurgen Klopp.
