Rangers manager Philippe Clement has been clear that he wants Hamza Igamane to stick around at Ibrox for a little while longer yet.
The Moroccan striker, 22, has burst onto the scene at Ibrox after being picked up by Rangers for what now looks like a bargain £1.7m fee from FAR Rabat in the summer.
Already there are reports of watching glances from the Premier League towards Igamane as the striker impresses in his first few months in British football.
But one of the most high-profile reported suitors appears to have turned their attentions elsewhere for now as Hamza Igamane sends a message to the Rangers support.
According to the Athletic, the Premier League club is interested in signing Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel as part of their January roster expansion.
Spurs have ‘advanced interest’ in a €60 million (£50.2 million) deal for ex-Rennes striker Tel, who has had few opportunities in Germany this season.
Hamza Igamane is ‘happy’ at Rangers
Tottenham aren’t the only Premier League club linked with Rangers forward Hamza Igamane this January.
According to reports in Italy, Everton are ‘one step away’ from making a bid for Igamane as David Moyes seeks to strengthen the Toffees team.
Despite the links away from Rangers, Hamza Igamane insists he’s ‘happy’ at Ibrox and has his sights set on continuing his development in Glasgow.
That’s even if the striker has ambitions beyond the borders of Scotland and with the Morocco national squad.
“To be honest, I am happy here in Scotland,” Igamane smiles. “Here, I do not need anything. Everything I need is available.
“I would like to thank the Rangers club officials because they put me in ideal conditions so that I can focus only on football and my achievements on the pitch.
“Believe me, I do not feel like a stranger here, despite my distance from Morocco.
“[I want] to maintain the speed of development, [and] to demonstrate that I will not stop working because I have not achieved the position I desire for myself.
“I [also] hope to quickly reach the den of the Atlas Lions, and have the honour of defending the colours of my country.”
