Manchester City are interested in Newcastle United defender Tino Livramento, according to the Telegraph.
The 22-year-old Magpies star joined the St James’ Park club in 2023 and has since established himself as a regular, eventually making his way into the England national team.
Livramento’s progress at Newcastle earned him his debut for the Three Lions last November, and Man City have become attracted to him as manager Pep Guardiola looks to rebuild his squad ahead of 2025-26.
The former Southampton player has appeared in 31 games in all competitions for the Toon this season and is set to be called up by new England manager Thomas Tuchel for the international games in March.
Man City are looking for a long-term successor for the departing Kyle Walker, and they believe Livramento is the perfect candidate, but whether Newcastle are willing to lose a player with such high potential is unclear.
He can play both right and left back, and Guardiola values versatility in his defenders.
Despite their troubles this season, Manchester City remain intriguing suitors, and the Magpies defender may be persuaded to join them in order to improve his chances of winning the Premier League title as well as other big domestic and European prizes.
Newcastle might qualify for the Champions League next season and win a major title for the first time since 1955, which could help them keep Livramento and other key players.
However, failure to, and PSR (Profit and Sustainability Rules) concerns could force them to cash in on him, and more clubs could join Man City in the pursuit of his services should he become available.
