Dr Rajpal Brar said Leeds United player Archie Gray could be out for weeks due to ligament damage.
The injury specialist has responded to Daniel Farke’s comments, as well as the fact that he came off the bench to score in his England under-21 debut on March 22.
On March 17, Farke stated that the 18-year-old had an ankle ailment that appeared to be minor at first glance.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Brar, a Physical Therapist and Sports Scientist, said about Gray:
“With ankle problems, you usually have a decent indication of severity after two or three days.
“If the ankle is knocked hard enough and twisted, ligament injury and bone bruising may occur.
“The fact that he participated and even scored on international duty indicates that he is at or close to 100 percent.
“Thus, there’s no ligament damage which is good news as that would’ve kept him out for weeks.”
Leeds United’s Gray avoids injury scare
Gray’s absence for several weeks would have been a big setback for Farke, since he has established himself as a key first-team member.
From being on the outskirts at the start of the season, the Englishman has thrived not only in midfield but also at right-back.
He has been tipped to go the distance and is one of the primary reasons Leeds will be at the top of the Championship by the end of March.
