‘Going to go’: Departing West Ham man tips key Irons star to join Liverpool and is ridiculed for ‘changing tune’

Liverpool and West Ham United will start the 2024/25 Premier League season with a new manager.

For the Hammers, it was certainly assumed that David Moyes would leave, but few expected Jurgen Klopp to leave Liverpool so abruptly.

It will be interesting to see how Julen Lopetegui does at the London Stadium, while Arne Slot has some big shoes to fill at Liverpool after Klopp won the title at Anfield.

The summer transfer market and the paths taken by the new coaches will be one of the most interesting aspects to watch.

However, who leaves or stays at West Ham or Liverpool may be more crucial.

Former midfielder Michael Brown, former West Ham manager Kevin Nolan, and host Darren Fletcher all spoke about Mohamed Salah.

Salah has attracted transfer interest from Saudi Arabia, and many believe he will move in the coming months.

Brown inquired as to who Liverpool should replace the Egypt star with if he leaves, and Nolan, who had only recently left West Ham, did not hesitate to identify Jarrod Bowen.

He was derided for implying that the Euro 2024 candidate had ‘changed his tune in roughly three days’ and that ‘football moves fast’, as he told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport.

Will Jarrod Bowen replace Mohamed Salah at Liverpool?

“Mo Salah, if you want me to condense it,” Brown answered when asked what Liverpool should do next season. “If he walks out the door. “How would you replace him?”

Kevin Nolan replied in the background, “Jarrod Bowen.” Darren Fletcher, the host, said, “Interesting Kev, Salah out and Bowen in.”

Brown said, “You’ve changed your tune in about three days, haven’t you, Kev?! Football goes on, doesn’t it?! Fast!” Fletcher added: “There will be no Nolan or Bowen at West Ham. If you get rid of Kev, Jarrod will do the same. I love that. Kev is also about to join the Liverpool staff, and he will be accompanied by Jarrod Bowen.

Will West Ham United keep Jarrod Bowen?

Even the most diehard West Ham fans will argue that Bowen deserves to play in Europe, particularly the Champions League.

He won’t be receiving that at the London Stadium next season, therefore it wouldn’t be surprising if Premier League clubs begin to approach him for his services.

You believe this is an opportunity to try to entice him away because the Irons are now in a bad position.

But, of course, West Ham cannot afford to sell its star players if they wish to return to Europe, especially with a new manager in place.
