Rhys Chadwick, 17, is the latest Leeds United youngster to sign a professional contract at Elland Road.
Rhys Chadwick is the latest Leeds United kid to clinch his first professional contract. The 17-year-old midfielder has signed a two-year contract with Leeds until 2026.
Chadwick was a major figure in last season’s FA Youth Cup run, scoring twice against Liverpool and Millwall in the semi-finals. He played on both the club’s Under-18 and Under-21 teams last season and will now continue his development at Thorp Arch.
He joins a long list of players who have recently signed professional contracts with the club, including Dan Toulson, Marley Wilson, Joe Snowdon, Joe Richards, Harry Christy, and Reuben Lopata-White.
Leeds United issued the following statement: “The club is pleased to announce that Rhys Chadwick has signed his first professional contract.” The 17-year-old signed a two-year contract at Elland Road and will remain with the Whites until 2026 as he continues his development at Thorp Arch.
“Chadwick was a key member of Rob Etherington’s Under-18s team that reached the FA Youth Cup final, scoring twice in the quarter-finals against Liverpool and again at Elland Road as Leeds defeated Millwall in the final four.
“The midfielder also started the final eight games of the Under-21s’ Premier League 2 season, impressing manager Scott Gardner. The club would like to congratulate Rhys on signing his first professional contract, and we look forward to following his progress in the future years.
