Daniel Farke could make changes to his Leeds United starting team for the Championship match against Stoke at Elland Road.
The Whites’ nine-game winning streak in the league came to an end with a 1-1 draw against Huddersfield last time out, but they will try to maintain their good home form when the relegation-battling Potters visit on Tuesday night (5 March).
However, with little time to prepare before another crucial game on Friday (8 March), the manager may want to shake things up with his players with a few changes.
Connor Roberts deserves to start for Leeds United.
Illan Meslier, who has been in fantastic form this season, will undoubtedly continue in goal, and his defenders will not be moved much.
Junior Firpo is the only healthy left-back in the squad, so he should start, while Joe Rodon and Ethan Ampadu are expected to continue at centre-back with Pascal Struijk still sidelined. However, defender Connor Roberts has impressed in recent substitute outings and should be given the nod at right-back.
That will allow young Archie Gray to return to his natural center midfield position, where he thrived against Chelsea, with Ilia Gruev joining him to give balance with Glen Kamara out of the picture.
Will Wilfried Gnonto be dropped by Leeds United?
Patrick Bamford has continued his excellent form in recent weeks, including a key equalising goal against Huddersfield, and should stay as number nine, while Georginio Rutter is likely to continue as number 10.
Crysencio Summerville has not scored in four games, but he is still the most vital part of Farke’s Elland Road attack and will almost certainly start on the left wing.
However, Wilfried Gnonto’s current hot streak has come to an end, and Daniel James has been making an impact off the bench, so the Wales star will likely get another shot from the start to reclaim his spot in the side.
