Gary Lineker has ‘heard a little gossip’ about what Jurgen Klopp plans to do after leaving Liverpool.
On Sunday, Jurgen Klopp said his farewells at Anfield, capping off an illustrious eight-and-a-half-year tenure.
It was also a fitting farewell, as Liverpool cruised to win over Wolves, 2-0, with goals from Alexis MacAllister and Jarell Quansah.
Klopp will now take a vacation from football, and he has accepted that this may be his retirement from management.
Lineker, on the other hand, has been informed of his potential next employment.
Gary Lineker has heard that Jurgen Klopp could become the president of Borussia Dortmund.
On The Rest Is Football podcast, Lineker discussed a rumour he had heard regarding Klopp being president of Borussia Dortmund.
“I’ll be interested to see what Jurgen Klopp does next.” I believe he will surely take some time off because he is sincere when he claims he has run out of energy,” the 63-year-old added.
“You can understand why that work is so tough. In a year’s time, he will face a war. Alternatively, they will be lining up for around a year. I heard a rumour that he could wind up as president of Borussia Dortmund, which would be fantastic.”
Alan Shearer: “I heard the same, yeah.”
A return to Dortmund would not be shocking, and it is consistent with Klopp’s belief that he may not return to management.
The scrutiny and duties of a club president are significantly lower than those of a manager, hence the rumour may come true.
Jurgen Klopp will not rush.
Klopp has previously stated that he will not manage in England again due to respect for Liverpool, so any return to the dugout will be abroad.
Even still, it appears considerably more likely that he will take on the job of president, as Lineker said.
In any case, he has stated that he wants to spend more time with his family and will not rush into his next part.
