As if Jack Harrison’s future wasn’t already uncertain, a fresh transfer development involving Leeds United and Everton has complicated matters even more.
Jack Harrison is having a disappointing season on loan at Everton from Leeds United. In 22 Premier League outings for the Toffees this season, the winger has not scored a single goal.
The latest on his future comes from transfer specialist Graeme Bailey, who recently disclosed to us that Harrison might return to Leeds United in the summer and play a utility role next season, given Junior Firpo’s expected exit on the left wing.
However, if Harrison returns to Elland Road, he will be closely watched. Everton fans have been dissatisfied with Harrison thus far, and it appears that few Leeds fans are intrigued by the prospect of the 28-year-old returning for next season.
Daniel Farke would need some genuine Premier League quality, and Harrison hasn’t demonstrated that this season. However, Nicolas Kuhn could be a good signing.
Everton and Leeds United are vying to capture Celtic forward Nicolas Kuhn.
Nicolas Kuhn of Celtic is having a successful season in the Scottish Premiership. The 25-year-old German has 10 goals and six assists in 22 league games for Celtic this season, and his impressive performance north of the border has put a number of teams south of the border on red alert.
TBR Football have claimed that Brentford, Crystal Palace, Everton, Leeds United, and Newcastle United are all keeping tabs on Kuhn ahead of a possible summer move. Celtic signed the wide man, who Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers describes as having a ‘passion for goals,’ for £3 million in January 2024.
No new price has yet been announced. However, considering his excellent form and the number of teams interested in the former Ajax and Bayern Munich player, don’t expect him to come cheaply.
What it all means for Jack Harrison amid the Leeds United and Everton stand-off
Rather brutally, it appears that neither Leeds United nor Everton want Harrison on their rosters for next season. Harrison wants to continue at Everton beyond this season, and the Toffees have a £20 million option to buy.
However, given Everton’s terrible form, the chances of him triggering that option appear minimal. Meanwhile, Farke appears to be more interested in signing Manor Solomon permanently from Spurs, while Sam Chambers is breaking through on the wing.
With Kuhn linked, it could indicate that both Everton and Leeds are uninterested in signing Harrison for next season. As a Leeds player, they’ll need to determine out what to do. A summer sale might be beneficial for everyone involved.
