Morgan Gibbs-White, a midfielder for Nottingham Forest, is being closely watched by Tottenham in anticipation of a possible summer transfer, sources have told Football Insider.
In addition to doing numerous scouting missions the previous season, the North London club has been monitoring the 24-year-old midfielder on a regular basis this season.
According to sources, Gibbs-White is thought of as a Tottenham player with a skill level suitable for a team competing in the Champions League.
Spurs will keep an eye on Gibbs-White’s condition because Forest may have a fire sale this summer.
Football Insider has revealed that Nottingham Forest may have to sanction transactions owing to FFP rules if they get relegated or are forced to sell their five top players this summer.
Spurs keep an eye on Gibbs-White, whose future at Nottingham Forest is uncertain.
Forest received a four-point deduction earlier this week for violating the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules.
They were charged with exceeding their authorized losses by £34.5 million over three years.
Forest can now appeal the judgment, but insiders have told Football Insider (21 March) that they are “highly unlikely” to contest the accusation.
Following the deduction, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side has fallen into the relegation zone, with Forest having only nine games left to preserve their top-flight safety.
Gibbs-White joined Forest in 2022 for a cost of £42.5 million, and he has nine goals and 13 assists in 71 appearances.
