Fabrizio Romano has provided Tottenham fans with an update on the club’s injury list.

Tottenham were dealt a blow when it was revealed that one of their important depth players is going to miss time due to a serious injury.
    Spurs thrive despite injuries.
Tottenham are enjoying life under new manager Ange Postecoglou, despite losing Harry Kane to Bayern Munich for a record fee this summer. The Australian has brought thrilling football back to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, something Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho attempted to eradicate from the club’s DNA.

More significantly, he has bought outcomes. Spurs are currently fourth in the Premier League, seven points behind first place and holding one of the prestigious Champions League qualification berths for next season. Despite injury woes that have seen the likes of Rodrigo Bentancur, Mickey Van de Ven, and James Maddison miss major chunks of the year, they have shot forwards wonderfully in a period where many expected Kane’s departure to set them behind.

Ange expresses fresh concern about “fractured foot”

ange When asked about his team news ahead of Tottenham’s match against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Ange said that he has a lengthy absentee list to deal with, and goalkeeper Fraser Forster is the most recent addition to the squad members sidelined in north London, with an expected absence of roughly 7 games.

Forster has yet to play in the Premier League this season, with his only outing coming in the Carabao Cup Third Round, where his side lost on penalties to London rivals Fulham, but he remains Tottenham’s number two.

He may not be seen again for some time after injuring his foot during training, which will keep him off the replacements bench for several weeks. When asked about it, Postecoglou stated (via Fabrizio Romano): “He picked up a knock in training – a fracture in his foot – and he’s out for a couple of months. Yes, disappointed.”
His £75,000-per-week contract expires at the end of the season, and Postecoglou’s side has shown no signs of wanting to prolong his stay in north London, implying that the former Celtic star may have played his final game for the Lilywhites.

Tottenham injuries Injury type Expected return
    Pedro Porro Groin March
    Destiny Udogie Knee March
    Manor Solomon Knee Unknown
    Fraser Forster Foot April
    Ryan Sessegnon Thigh Unknown

It implies that if first-choice goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario is forced to miss a game due to injury or suspension, Postecoglou will be in a difficult situation. As it stands, his options are Alfie Whiteman or Brandon Austin, neither of whom will inspire confidence among the Lilywhite fans.

Whiteman spent the 2022/23 season on loan with Swedish top tier side Degerfors and has only appeared for the Spurs senior squad once, whereas Brandon Austin has been with the club since 2016 but has yet to make his debut for his hometown club.

With Vicario having been very impressive since his summer arrival and Hugo Lloris leaving the club in January for pastures new, Tottenham fans will be holding their breath if the Italian shot-stopper goes down in the final game of the season.
