Reporter Fabrizio Romano said he is “not aware” of any interaction between Chelsea and Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville at this time.
The 22-year-old Holland youth international has been a standout for the Whites this season as they look to gain promotion to the Premier League.
He has made 35 appearances in all competitions, scoring 16 goals and providing nine assists.
In the most recent update on his condition, Romano stated in his Daily Briefing (3 March): “One final point on Chelsea – despite rumours, I’m not aware of any contacts or negotiations over Crysencio Summerville at Leeds.” Chelsea’s top aim for the summer remains a central striker, but we’ll see who else they look into.
“There are really many clubs following and monitoring Crysencio in the Premier League and other leagues, so let’s see if Chelsea decide to join them, but I’m not aware of anything concrete on this at the moment.”
Fabrizio Romano brings the latest on Chelsea’s links with Leeds United’s Crysencio Summerville.
Leeds did well to keep Summerville both last summer and in January. He is a very talented player, particularly in the Championship, and his performances this season have helped the Whites move into automatic promotion contention.
He is under contract at Elland Road until the summer of 2026, so his present club is not under any obligation to sell him anytime soon unless they receive an offer they cannot reject for his services.
His immediate goal will be to assist Daniel Farke’s side advance as they compete with Leicester City, Ipswich Town, and Southampton at the top of the second division. They drew 1-1 at to Huddersfield Town this weekend and were disappointed after playing the entire second half with ten men.
You can see why Chelsea could be interested in Summerville. He is young, has the ability to grow and improve in the future, and has been on top of his game this season.
