A proposition was made to the athlete in question.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Nottingham Forest has made a move for a “fantastic” player who will participate in Euro 2024 this summer.
Nottingham Forest Transfer News
After narrowly avoiding relegation from the Premier League to the Championship in 2023/24 due to point deduction issues, Reds fans will be hoping for better days ahead under Nuno Espirito Santo. In order for this to happen, some high-quality acquisitions are required during the summer transfer window, and several players have been connected with moves to the City ground.
Florentino Luis, a Benfica midfielder, is one such target for Forest, with the 24-year-old potentially replacing Ibrahim Sangare in the center of the pitch. He appeared in 30 games for the Portuguese giants in the Primeira Liga in 2023/24, averaging 2.6 tackles per game and demonstrating his potential as a tough presence at the base of Nuno’s midfield.
A new goalkeeper could also be considered ahead of next season, with Matt Turner not always impressing between the posts, while Bayern Munich stopper Daniel Peretz has emerged as an appealing loan alternative. A number of clubs are interested in signing him, but Manuel Neuer’s sustained excellence at the German giants makes it nearly hard for him to make an impression.
Meanwhile, Luis isn’t the only Benfica player apparently being considered by Forest, with highly-rated centre-back Morato touted as the club’s new Murillo, who has impressed thus far.
Nottingham Forest makes offer to striker.
According to Romano on X, Nottingham Forest has sent a proposal to Southampton striker Che Adams and appears to be winning the race ahead of Wolves, with the Reds optimistic of completing a deal this summer:
The 27-year-old also helped Saints return to the top flight last month, scoring 16 goals in the Championship, and former manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has said of him in the past: “He is a guy who is a little bit frustrated when he doesn’t play, but then when the game comes, he shows up immediately, and this is fantastic. “That’s why we brought him here.”
Adams hasn’t always been a regular starter for Southampton, which could indicate that he is looking for a fresh challenge. He is out of contract this month, so Forest could sign him on a free transfer.
The £30,000-a-week attacker is set to make Scotland’s final squad for Euro 2024 and might start the tournament’s first game against Germany on June 14th, especially now that teammate striker Lyndon Dykes has been ruled out due to injury. That demonstrates Adams’ talent, and he has the potential to add firepower and pedigree to Nuno’s squad.
