As Nottingham Forest holds talks with Ramon Sosa of Argentine team Tallares and the winger from Vitoria Guimaraes, Jota Silva is eager to finalize a move to the Premier League.
Happier days should be approaching for one of the most important attackers in Primeira Liga, after he was disappointed not to be included in Portugal’s squad for the European Championships this summer.
Jota Silva is hoping that in the last month of the transfer window, a move to England can be arranged.
And his wish ought to come true. After HITC revealed a few months ago that Vitoria Guimaraes has admirers at Wolves, Leicester City, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Celtic, Nottingham Forest is currently in the driver’s seat to secure the player’s contract.
The 24-year-old Silva, who has two Portugal caps, led Vitoria Guimaraes in goals scored and assists last season with fifteen.
Similarities have been made between Silva and Jack Grealish, despite Silva’s preference for cutting inside and his slicked back hairstyle. Silva is a left-footed right winger who also displays creativity from the flanks.
For what it’s worth, Silva believes that he and Liverpool attacker Diogo Jota have more in common.
Nottingham Forest closes closer on Jota Silva of Vitoria Silva
He attracted the attention of Benfica, the Portuguese powerhouse, but England is still his top choice.
HITC is also aware that Nottingham Forest is anticipated to complete the transaction for a mere £6 million, even though his Vitoria contract contains a £17 million release clause.
“His tenacity and self-assurance are remarkable. a humble upbringing and strong work ethic,” Joao Cunha, who collaborated with a teenage Jota Silva at Sousense, tells Record.
Those who know Jota Silva well often emphasize his humility and dedication. Every club loves him, wherever he goes.
According to what HITC knows, Ramon Sosa from Club Atletico Talleres is also being discussed for a signing by Nottingham Forest. But it’s hardly a “one or the other” situation.
Prior to the September deadline, Silva and Sosa are desired by Nuno Espirito Santo’s team.
Talks about Sosa are progressing nicely as well, even though Jota Silva seems to be further along at this point. According to O Jogo, he will travel to England on Wednesday and won’t be in the Vitoria squad for this week’s Conference League qualifier against Floriana, a Maltese team.
There have been discussions between Forest and Talleres about a trade of roughly £12 million.
Similar to Jota, Sosa was also noticed by Wolves earlier in the window. The Paraguay international’s agent, Daniel Campos, has additionally verified that Everton and Chelsea have communicated to show interest.
“I had a conversation with Chelsea’s sporting director,” Campos claims via Popular, without specifying whether he was speaking with co-director Paul Winstanley or Laurence Stewart.
“They are giving (Sosa) some thought.”
Ramon Sosa is negotiating to go to City Ground as well.
Ramon Sosa feels more at ease moving from the right to the left, but Jota Silva prefers to float in from the left onto the right. Thus, there’s a very good chance that both will play for the same Nottingham Forest team.
Despite not being quite as successful as Silva, Sosa has still managed to rack up seven goals and six assists in his previous 21 Talleres games.
This summer, Forest has already added three players to their first team. Along with two more six-foot-something giants, former Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic and Brazilian goalkeeper Carlos Miguel, came Elliot Anderson from Newcastle United.
Meanwhile, Anthony Elanga and Callum Hudson-Odoi will have more competition out wide with the addition of Jota Silva and Ramon Sosa.
