Leeds United are interested in signing Liverpool midfield sensation Bobby Clark on loan, according to Football Insider sources.
Daniel Farke’s side are the latest to express interest in signing the midfielder, with Sheffield United and Norwich also interested and making formal offers.
Meanwhile, RB Salzburg has already started talks with Liverpool over a permanent move.
However, the Reds are more likely to accept a loan move for the 19-year-old than to let him leave permanently before August 31.
Clark’s current deal at Anfield is slated to expire in 2028 after the club agreed to new terms and an extension in December 2023, and there are no plans to let him leave before then.
Leeds United recruit Liverpool star Bobby Clark,
who joined from Newcastle United’s academy in 2021 and is regarded as one of the club’s top prospects.
His first-team debut came in August 2022 against Bournemouth, and the midfielder has since made 14 professional appearances for Liverpool.
The new contract agreed in 2023 is understood to have included a promise that he would be shown a path to the first team, with a loan move seen as the next step in his development.
Interest from Championship promotion contenders will allow Clark to play at a high level and gain regular match experience.
With Leeds losing Archie Gray and Glen Kamara from their midfield this summer, the Liverpool player is being pursued to fill the void in Farke’s team.
On July 30, Football Insider stated that Liverpool had intensified their search for a replacement midfielder, moving Clark lower down the Anfield pecking order.
The emergence of a new option would clear the way for Clarke’s departure, with clubs vying for his signature on a season-long loan.
