Leeds United will be unable to retain Crysencio Summerville during the summer transfer window after failing to return to the Premier League, according to Football Insider.

On the current episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior journalist Pete O’Rourke stated that it is “impossible” for the Dutch attacker to stay at Elland Road after multiple bids have already been lodged for him.

Daniel Farke’s side nearly missed out on promotion after losing 1-0 to Southampton in last weekend’s Championship play-off final.

According to Football Insider, Leeds are currently under pressure to recoup £150 million in player sales in order to comply with financial requirements.

Summerville is one of many first-team players who might leave Elland Road this summer, with many Premier League clubs expressing interest in the 22-year-old playmaker.

The Dutch midfielder was voted Championship Player of the Year after scoring 19 goals and providing nine assists for Leeds during the league season.

Crysencio Summerville likely to depart Leeds United amid £150 million announcement.

Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, O’Rourke stated: “The player most likely to depart is Summerville.

“He has undoubtedly demonstrated what he is capable of this season; he had a fantastic campaign and was awarded Championship Player of the Year due to his numerous goals and assists.

“So there has been significant curiosity in the Dutchman for several years.

“In the last two of transfer windows, especially in January, Leeds turned down a few bids for him and were able to keep him, but I believe it will be nearly impossible to keep him this summer.

“We know Leeds do need money coming in from player sales – they need £150million of player sales, so they’re going to be pretty susceptible to offers for all their top players.”
