Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has stated that Victor Lindelof has resumed team training after missing more than a month due to groin surgery.
Tonight, the Red Devils face Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League at Molineux. Before the game, the club received a twofold boost.
Andre Onana and Marcus Rashford are back in contention for selection, while Lindelof, who has returned to training with his teammates, might be featured soon.
Mason Mount and Tyrell Malacia are also on the turf, training separately. Ten Hag may have a fully fit squad to pick from as the season nears its finale.
Ten Hag informed Manutd.com that Victor Lindelof is back in training, as is the team, while others, such as Tyrell Malacia and Mason Mount, are out on the grass. I am not ready, but I do not think it will take long. The good news is that we have a strong squad and can now choose.”
This season, the manager has dealt with significant defensive injuries. Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane, Luke Shaw, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka have all missed multiple games.
Varane, Martinez, Shaw, and Maguire all appeared in the recent FA Cup fourth round victory over Newport County away.
Lindelof, who signed for €35 million in 2017, may possibly make a comeback shortly. He may not be fit tonight, but he could make the bench against West Ham United on Sunday.
Meanwhile, United have a must-win match against Wolves. They have a fantastic opportunity to close the 11-point gap to the top four following Aston Villa’s stunning defeat to Newcastle United.
After Wolves, the club will face West Ham and Aston Villa within 10 days. The next three games are critical to United’s Champions League hopes.
