It will be exciting to watch what Newcastle United does this summer.

Indeed, Newcastle United have removed a 70-year burden off their shoulders by winning a major domestic trophy following their Carabao Cup victory.

Chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan has declared that Newcastle would compete for further trophies, issuing a statement of purpose shortly after the 2-1 triumph over Liverpool at Wembley.

After a disappointing era in terms of transfers, things may be changing. Newcastle insiders believe they can spend this summer after keeping their powder dry by selling players recently.

To that goal, a fresh right winger could be recruited. Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo has long been linked with a move to St James’ Park.

Previous reports stated Mbeumo was Newcastle’s ideal signing, now there has been a new development.

According to Caught Offside, Newcastle is the most interested in the Cameroon international.

Manchester United and Arsenal are also thought to be interested, but the outlet’s sources say Newcastle is willing to meet Mbeumo’s £50 million estimate.

Despite interest from Old Trafford and the Emirates Stadium, it is unclear whether either team would be willing to pay such a high sum.

Liverpool and Tottenham have also expressed an interest in the 25-year-old, making the battle to sign him extremely competitive.

Newcastle has previously failed one Bryan Mbeumo transfer attempt.

Newcastle attempted to recruit Mbeumo in January, but Brentford declined. It was then reported that the Magpies intend to renew their interest this summer.

That would definitely make sense. This season, the Cameroonian sensation has 15 Premier League goals and five assists. Only Chris Wood, Alexander Isak, Erling Haaland, and Mohamed Salah have scored more goals in the League this season.

The prospect of him establishing a powerful frontline alongside Isak and Anthony Gordon is really exciting.
