Bayern Munich’s search for a new manager has been nothing short of embarrassing. Whoever is appointed now is unlikely to have been among the top five candidates, and may not have even made the top ten.
Bild published a piece on Tuesday that identifies more than 15 potential candidates, including Newcastle United’s Eddie Howe and Nottingham Forest’s Nuno Espirito Santo.
Vincent Kompany rose to the top of the choices list on Monday, which is quite beneficial for the Burnley manager. After failing at Anderlecht and recently being relegated with Burnley, the Bayern Munich job is not the logical next step.
So, how about Howe and Nuno? According to Bild, Bayern is now considering less obvious options, presumably because all of the obvious ones have been turned down.
This contains the Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest managers. According to reports, Howe was discussed internally at Säbener Straße but is no longer considered a credible option.
Nuno has recently emerged as a candidate for consideration, demonstrating Bayern’s willingness to think beyond the box.
Andoni Iraola, from Bournemouth, is also mentioned.
