Rangers’ options for their upcoming Scottish Premiership match are weak and limited due to injuries; how many times has a variation of that line been stated in the last three years?
Here we go again. After Connor Barron and Leon Balogun were injured against Manchester United, what options does Philippe Clement have for the trip to Dundee United?
Jack Butland made tremendous saves and a big mistake against his former team. However, he is unlikely to drop the gloves to Liam Kelly just yet. The sole change in defence ahead of Butland will be the return of Clinton Nsiala to partner Robin Propper.
In midfield, Bailey Rice has earned a start with Nico Raskin. The 18-year-old remained calm and collected under the lights at Old Trafford and has earned his place.
Ianis Hagi’s availability will benefit Clement, who will most likely place Nedim Bajrami and, if fit, Vaclav Cerny behind Hamza Igamane. However, the Czech winger appeared to be off the pace for much of Thursday night and may be replaced by Ross McCausland.

The injuries to Connor Barron and Leon Balogun are not ideal, but Nsiala should be back to the starting lineup anyway. Rafael Fernandes is unlikely to start, but the Lille loanee could be on the bench.
Given Jack Butland’s error for Man United’s opening goal, the manager may have to make a goalkeeping choice, although Liam Kelly, who performed admirably in Butland’s absence, is unlikely to be brought back.
Up top, Nedim Bajrami has been out of form for weeks and does not deserve to start, and it is unclear whether Vaclav Cerny, who hobbled off in midweek, will be fit to play. It may simply open the way for Findlay Curtis to receive a chance from the start.
Cyriel Dessers also deserves to start after his incredible goal on Thursday, but not at the expense of Hamza Igamane. Let’s see them on the pitch together.
