Dr Rajpal Brar predicts that Leeds United forward Georginio Rutter will miss another week of training.
The injury specialist has responded to the news that the Frenchman had to have hernia surgery during the international break.
The problem had been bothering the 21-year-old for weeks, but it is said to be a small and standard surgery that will not keep him out for long.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Brar, a Physical Therapist and Sports Scientist, said of Rutter: “This sounds like a reasonably modest treatment given that he’s not likely to miss more than two weeks.
“Once completed, the key will be a progressive and rigorous physio program that grows more sport-specific.
“He will be eyeing a training return by next week if all things go as per plan.”
Rutter has been one of the top players for Leeds United.
Rutter has been in excellent form for Leeds this season and has been used as both a number 10 and a striker by Daniel Farke.
It’s wonderful news that his hernia problem wasn’t serious, given he’s a crucial player for Leeds in their quest for promotion.
Hopefully, everything goes as planned, and the attacker, who has 15 assists and six league goals this season, returns to action within the next two weeks.
