Dr Rajpal Brar believes Leeds United defender Joe Rodon is at risk of long-term injury because he is playing with back spasms.
The injury expert argues that it is unclear how frequently he need painkillers, but feels that the club may manage it until the end of the season.
This comes after Daniel Farke stated that the Tottenham-owned center-back had used killers.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Brar, a Physical Therapist and Sports Scientist, said about Rodon:
“It’s difficult to say if they’ll be a frequent occurrence or if they were only necessary in this case – it all relies on the circumstances, which we don’t know.
“There’s always a chance of long-term injury when playing through something, so that risk is present here.
“The best way to avoid injury would be allowing for proper recovery but this is elite football so he will be managed for now.”
Joe Rodon has been an important signing for Leeds United.
Rodon’s impact on Leeds United this season has been enormous, and he has become a first-team regular, with the club already making plans to sign him permanently.
He signed on a season-long loan from Tottenham and rapidly established himself as a major component in the squad, impressing Farke.
His performances have been impressive, helping Leeds’ push for promotion back to the Premier League.
Despite a drop in form following the international break, Rodon has demonstrated his quality and importance to the team and will hopefully pick things up in the last stages of the season.
