Jude Bellingham came close to joining Liverpool last year, but Diogo Jota claims the Reds have someone even better than the midfielder.
Bellingham is one of the favourites to win the Ballon d’Or this year, following a tremendous season with Real Madrid and a few unforgettable moments at Euro 2024.
However, Jota told Goal that one of his Liverpool colleagues is better than Bellingham.
Indeed, the striker believes Trent Alexander-Arnold is a better player than the Real Madrid star.
Diogo Jota feels Trent Alexander-Arnold is superior than Jude Bellingham.
When asked to rate some of the biggest stars in world football, the attacker put Alexander-Arnold slightly ahead of Bellingham.
“Trent?” Jota was asked.
“Two,” Jota answered.
“Jude Bellingham?”
“Number three then.”
What Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jude Bellingham have been seen doing
It’s intriguing how Jota compared Bellingham to Alexander-Arnold. After all, these two have developed quite the bromance.
Alexander-Arnold and Bellingham appear to be inseparable in the England camp, as evidenced by their recent appearance at the airport.
Kaya Kaynak of Football London provided an update on the pair, reporting that he spotted them in Los Angeles together.
“I saw Jude Bellingham and Trent Alexander-Arnold together in the passport queue in LA,” Kaynak told me.
“I suppose they’re on vacation together in LA. I don’t think they’re signing for Arsenal, but it may be a Real Madrid link-up; Trent has been connected with a move there, so it’ll be fascinating to keep a watch on that.”
As Kaynak points out, this comes shortly after Alexander-Arnold was linked with a move to Real Madrid.
It’s debatable if Alexander-Arnold is better than Bellingham, but if Madrid is able to acquire the Liverpool full-back, there’s an argument to be made that England’s two most talented players will be playing for Los Blancos.
