Ben Jacobs believes Leeds United will keep Crysencio Summerville at Elland Road if they earn promotion back to the Premier League this season.
The Dutch winger has been one of the Whites’ top forwards this season, scoring 15 goals and setting up eight assists for his teammates while receiving plenty of praise.
Summerville’s outstanding run under Daniel Farke has prompted interest from a number of Premier League clubs; sports broadcaster Jacobs believes he will only leave Leeds if the club fails to achieve promotion this season.
As quoted by Give Me Sport on Tuesday (20 February), he stated: “I’ve said many times regarding Crysencio Summerville, he’s been incredibly devoted to Leeds.
“During all of the speculation in the last two windows, he’s been a model professional, and there was a significant difference in the summer between how Wilfried Gnonto behaved, though he’s been terrific since, and how Summerville behaved.
“Summerville is enjoying his time at Leeds and doing an excellent job. So if Leeds are promoted, I anticipate Summerville to want to stay. Naturally, if they don’t move up, things will be different.”
Will Crysencio Summerville complete his summer transfer away from Leeds United?
Leeds United have a lot riding on the coming months. Promotion to the Premier League is the ultimate goal for many reasons, but if the Whites fall out, Farke’s team might be split apart once more.
Georginio Rutter, Wilfried Gnonto, Dan James, and Summerville have all demonstrated this season that they are too good to play in England’s second tier, and they will almost certainly make the step up, whether or not Leeds are involved.
Farke’s side is in a strong position to earn automatic promotion this season, and even if they falter, most analysts and supporters believe they will win the playoffs.
Leeds have demonstrated in recent weeks that they can beat anyone they encounter this season, and if they continue on their current path, they will be in the Premier League in no time.
