Leeds United and Everton have agreed on a second loan deal for winger Jack Harrison, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The transfer analyst announced on his official X account [21 June] that the two teams are now exchanging documents before the deal becomes official.
It was revealed this week that the Toffees had begun talks with Leeds about bringing Harrison to Goodison Park following his successful stay last season.
Everton will pay the player’s salary in full, but Leeds will not get a loan fee.
Jack Harrison is ready for another season with Everton.
Losing Harrison is not a huge setback because no one expected him to return to Elland Road next season, but not receiving any form of remuneration is frustrating to say the least.
A Premier League team should be expected to pay a loan fee in addition to the player’s salaries.
Leeds only have themselves to blame, as this clause was included in the contract signed just before Premier League relegation.
The Whites must now hope Harrison makes a significant impact in the top tier next season in order to retain his transfer value as high as possible when he is sold.
Harrison had a mixed campaign at Goodison Park last season, but Sean Dyche clearly liked him because he was a regular starter out wide.
Everton will be smiling as they sign the player for another season, especially given their financial condition.
Leeds will not need to replace Harrison in the traditional sense, but they could use another wide player if Crysencio Summerville leaves, as expected.
