Leeds United will extend their unbeaten run in all competitions to ten games when they meet Swansea City on Tuesday (February 13), according to David Prutton.
The Sky Sports commentator predicts that Daniel Farke’s team will be able to build on their great success over Rotherham United and return from Wales with all three points, with the Whites winning 2-1.
Swansea ended a five-match winless streak with a 1-0 victory over Hull City last time out, and while it may boost their confidence, Prutton expects Leeds to keep “steamrolling” through the division.
In his Sky Sports Championship predictions (12 February), he wrote: “Swansea came out of nowhere to beat Hull City on Saturday! They were completely off of form, but that only goes to show how unpredictable this league can be.
“Can they duplicate their performance against Leeds? It’s a tall order given that Daniel Farke’s club is currently dominating the competition. It could be close in South Wales, but I can’t back United right now.”
Daniel Farke will keep steamrolling with Leeds United
Leeds United were at their best against Rotherham, with their attacking talent combining perfectly to help them easily defeat the Millers and maintain their push for automatic promotion.
While Patrick Bamford’s opener was dubious, Crysencio Summerville produced two fantastic goals, including a cheeky panenka that demonstrated Farke’s team’s confidence at the moment.
Daniel Farke has only lost six matches since joining Leeds United last summer.
On the opposite wing, Wilfried Gnonto and Archie Gray were causing havoc, and with Dan James on the verge of returning to the first squad, Leeds could aim to run riot again on Tuesday night.
As Prutton said, it is difficult to bet against the Whites at this time, and if they play anywhere close to their potential against the Swans, they will extend their extraordinary unbeaten streak for at least a few more days.
