Daniel Farke should start a 26-year-old Leeds player tomorrow; his record at Elland Road is excellent

Leeds United face Millwall tomorrow, their first game back following a nine-day break.

Leeds United have finally had a full week to prepare for a match following an extremely demanding run of league and FA Cup meetings.

Daniel Farke has frequently preferred to have a consistent starting lineup between games when Leeds have had a break, especially after such an outstanding away win at in-form Sheffield Wednesday.

All signs point to this being the case, with Farke providing a favorable injury report in his press conference on Friday. There are no fresh concerns, and both Jaidon Anthony and Jamie Shackleton have returned.

However, Farke should probably consider making at least one alteration to his starting lineup from Hillsborough, and that is on the right side of the attack.

    Farke should examine James’ start.

Willy Gnonto impressed with his goal scoring last time out and is anticipated to keep his place, but Dan James’ return to the starting lineup would be welcomed.

Gnonto scored seven goals in all competitions last season, six of which came since the beginning of February. However, all of those, as well as his two assists, have occurred away from home.

In contrast, James’ record is quite different. Nine of his 11 goals this season have come at Elland Road, with his only two away goals coming against Blackburn Rovers and Cardiff City.

This could be merely coincidence, but Gnonto consistently delivers his finest performances away from home, whilst James has done so more frequently at home.

With that in mind, Farke should seriously consider bringing James back into the starting lineup tomorrow, especially because the game is on home turf.
