Leeds United are reportedly interested in signing Norwich City striker Josh Sargent this summer, after the Canaries were eliminated from the playoffs.
The Whites are one game away from returning to the Premier League as they prepare for the playoff final at Wembley Stadium next weekend.
They take on Southampton after defeating Norwich City 4-0 in the second leg on Thursday.
Leeds wants Norwich attacker Josh Sargent.
According to the Sunday Mirror, Leeds want to add to Norwich’s anguish after the club was eliminated from the playoffs by signing striker Josh Sargent.
Daniel Farke is said to be looking forward to reuniting with the USMNT player if Leeds win at Wembley and return to the top division.
However, Leeds are not the only team interested in signing him; Premier League clubs Bournemouth, Brentford, and Fulham are also said to be interested in the 24-year-old.
Sargent finished this season with 16 goals and two assists, scoring 29 Championship goals in his last two seasons since relegation from the top flight in 2022.
With Sargent contracted until 2028, it’s not likely that Leeds will be getting the American on the cheap, even with the Canaries staying down for next term.
Sargent would be a very solid addition up front for Leeds
He’s not a particularly prolific number nine, but Sargent would be an improvement over what we have while also giving the correct type of profile.
Leeds need a nine who, like Bamford, can do it all, and Sargent is that, but he is less prone to injury and more consistent.
If the fee isn’t too high after promotion, Sargent might be a good approach to add depth at the top.
