Farke is implementing a long-term transfer plan at Elland Road.
Leeds United rallied from a goal behind to defeat Leicester City 3-1 in a top-of-the-table Championship encounter on Friday. Connor Roberts, a youngster brought in by Daniel Farke in January, began the comeback, before Archie Gray and Patrick Bamford scored.
Roberts joined Leeds on loan from Burnley until the end of the season, and while he may have helped the club reach the Premier League, his long-term future is uncertain.
Leeds are currently battling Spurs for Ebosele.
According to HITC Football, Leeds is interested in signing Festy Ebosele from Serie A team Udinese. Premier League clubs Spurs, Everton, West Ham, and Leeds’ promotion opponents Southampton are all keeping a close eye on his development.
Ebosele is especially appealing to top-flight clubs because he qualifies as a homegrown player after his stint at Derby County. Udinese’s sister club, Watford, is also a fan, but they are the lowest-ranked team in the race.
“Rising star” Ebosele is a powerful runner.
After joining Derby from the Bray Wanderers youth in 2018, Ebosele made 41 first-team appearances in four years at Pride Park before joining Udinese on a free transfer.
He has played 43 games for the Italian club, 25 of which have come this season, and his 19 league starts demonstrate that he has established himself as a significant player. The 21-year-old has, understandably, piqued the interest of his international managers, and he made his senior debut for the Republic of Ireland in a 2-0 loss to France in the autumn.
While Ebosele has played as a right wing-back, he has only contributed one goal this season (an assist in a 1-0 away win over AC Milan in November). Instead, his most valuable asset has been his dribbling; he is fourth in the league in successful take-ons and ninth in carries into the penalty area (31). Opponents frequently have to bring him down to prevent him from reaching dangerous areas, which is why he is also in the top ten in terms of fouls drawn (39).
In an article for Football Talent Scout, journalist Ryan Kilbane described him as a “rising star.” He might be a wonderful addition to a freshly promoted Leeds this summer, allowing Gray to transition into a specialist midfield role and Roberts to find a permanent new home.
