Leeds United have surfaced as a “surprise” candidate to complete a trade for Fenerbahce striker Michy Batshuayi, who is expected to make his decision at the end of the season, according to the Star.
On April 13, the Turkish news site said that Fenerbahce’s plan had always been to offer the Belgian a new contract before Leeds’ interest complicated matters.
However, with a contract on the table for the striker, it is expected that he will make his “critical” final choice at the end of the current season, with Leeds keeping a close eye.

Leeds’ focus throughout the summer will be on boosting their offensive options, as evidenced by links with Southampton forward Che Adams – a need that was highlighted even more by the loss to Blackburn.
Despite his well-known name during his time in the Premier League, Batshuayi’s career has remained a mystery. Despite showing early promise, the striker has never settled at any club.
17 goals and nine assists in 36 games for Marseille earned him a move to Chelsea, where he scored only eight league goals in three seasons. He scored five goals in 11 appearances on loan at Crystal Palace, but only two in 18 after joining on a permanent basis.
His stint in Turkey has been more consistent, with 14 goals in 33 games for Besiktas and 21 goals in 40 games for Fenerbahce, but it’s unlikely that he’ll be good enough for Leeds, given his age.
