Club make £20m bid for striker that Leeds want to sign – report

Leeds United are still interested in Emmanuel Latte Lath despite a record-breaking £20million bid from Atlanta United, according to Daily Mail Sport.

The newspaper reported in its print edition (13 January, page 10) that amid interest from the Whites, as well as West Ham and Ipswich, the first move has been made to sign the Middlesbrough star.

Latte Lath has scored 10 goals for Boro in 26 Championship games so far this campaign, and Atlanta’s offer would break the MLS transfer record if they were to get a deal over the line.

Daniel Farke has discounted rumors that the Peacocks may attempt to acquire a striker this month to boost their promotion drive, but could be persuaded to bid for Latte Lath after developments.

Leeds United must demonstrate ambition in the Emmanuel Latte Lath contest.

This month, Elland Road has plenty of cash after selling three important assets and a slew of additional players during the summer transfer window, bringing in well over £120 million.

Georginio Rutter’s £40 million sale to Brighton occurred after the season began, meaning that his departure was not sanctioned in accordance with the EFL’s profit and sustainability criteria.

As a result, the 49ers Enterprises have the financial resources and ability to match Atlanta’s high-dollar offer for Latte Lath, and they should do everything they can to ensure the Ivorian ends up at Elland Road.

With Joe Gelhardt on loan to Hull City and Patrick Bamford suffering yet another injury setback, adding another striker could be the key to the Whites’ season-ending success.

Latte Lath will not be cheap, but with Farke yet to decide who his main man is up front, adding the 26-year-old to the mix could set his side on an unstoppable path to the Premier League.
