Leeds United have shown no “concrete interest” in former Coventry City player Callum O’Hare this summer, according to Beren Cross.
The Leeds Live writer stated on July 5 that he understands why people might associate the 26-year-old with Leeds, but no movements have been made as of yet.
Cross also stated that the Whites are unlikely to want to commit to a long-term deal for the attacker, especially if they are promoted next season.
He wrote, “There has been nothing substantial on O’Hare.
Why Leeds shouldn’t sign Callum O’Hare this summer
Leeds’ offensive is probably one of their strongest points on the pitch. In addition to Crysencio Summerville and Willy Gnonto, Daniel Farke has Dan James and Georginio Rutter at his disposal.
And, unfortunately for O’Hare, he plays in comparable positions to the quartet above and is unlikely to get ahead of them.
Although his 14 goals and assists last season were a respectable return, especially given the skill in Coventry City’s roster, he has yet to demonstrate his abilities on a larger stage. However, this has not deterred Burnley from competing for his transfer. [Graeme Bailey, 5 July].
O’Hare is only 26 years old, so age is on his side; yet, it’s worth noting that no Premier League clubs have pursued the attacker during his peak.
The midfielder does have one advantage: he is a free agent. If any of Leeds’ attackers, including Summerville [Ben Jacobs, 24 June], leave a vacuum to fill, Farke may consider the attacker as a ‘cheap’ replacement.
