With a midday match against Burnley on Saturday at Elland Road, Daniel Farke will want his Leeds players back as soon as possible. Scott Parker’s team is anticipated to be a promotion rival.
But they weren’t the only Leeds players in action; a 20-year-old prospect played 90 minutes on Tuesday night, helping his country to a 5-0 victory and a significant step closer to qualification.
Leeds jewel Jeremiah Mullen plays critical part in Scotland’s triumph.
The “brilliant” 20-year-old earned his 11th cap for Scotland’s U21 side on Tuesday night after playing 75 minutes against Joseph’s Spain U21 team last week, in which Joseph scored the winner.
On Tuesday night, Scotland’s U21 team defeated Malta 5-0 away. Lennon Miller, a Mothwell midfielder, was the standout of the game, providing two assists and scoring a goal from central midfield.
Mullen, who can play right-back like he did against Spain, started at centre-back and helped his team retain a clean sheet against Malta. A significant victory as Scotland’s U21s closing in on qualification.
Mullen could participate in next summer’s Euro U21 event.
Following Spain’s victory against Scotland last week, Joseph’s team finished first in a six-nation group and qualified for next summer’s Euro U21 competition in Slovakia without having to play a play-off.
