Blackburn Rovers delivered a serious warning with Patrick Bamford’s departure from Leeds United

Bamford has been linked to a transfer away from Elland Road this month, despite the fact that minor injury niggles have hindered his season.

Carlton Palmer, a former England midfielder, has advised Blackburn Rovers not to recruit Patrick Bamford, a striker for Leeds United.

This month, the striker—who hasn’t started a game for Daniel Farke this season—has been linked to a move. Bamford has been limited by a variety of injury issues, which have prevented him from making further contributions to the club.

He is currently lower in the hierarchy than Joel Piroe and Mateo Joseph due to a season that was a stop-start. Palmer thinks West Brom winger Jed Wallace would be a superior addition, even though Blackburn manager John Eustace is a fan of Bamford.

“I’m a big admirer of Patrick Bamford, but again, apparently he’s picked up an injury to his hamstring,” Palmer stated. “I believe that may force his hand because he hasn’t played enough football lately and has sustained too many injuries.

“When questioned about Bamford and Wallace, John Eustace has been quite evasive. Since Jed Wallace is currently out of the picture and wants to play regular first team games, I believe he is a more realistic addition from West Bromwich Albion.

“I can see the Baggies looking to move him out and using that money to bring in other players. He’s not had any game time at all, so that makes more sense. Daniel Farke has always said he’d like to keep Patrick Bamford in the building, and Patrick is a tremendous player, he can score goals at Championship level and he’s proved he can score goals at Premier League level, it’s just the problem that he’s consistently not been fit over the last few years.

Considering him, I wouldn’t be able to rely on him as a manager, even though Leeds United may decide to keep him on the team until the end of the season. He’s not going to come for small change, and I can’t count on him as a player every single week. On the other hand, Jed Wallace is fit, has experience playing at the Championship level, and I believe he would be a terrific addition to the football team if they could get him on board.”

“Patrick is a very good player, I played with him at Derby, a long time ago when he started out,” Eustace remarked, confirming that Bamford was on their list of objectives. He plays for a major Leeds club and is a reliable performer at this level. However, a lot of names will be directed at me, and I’ll just respond that they’re terrific players.

“You must inquire with the club. We’ve looked at a huge list of players, including him, but we’ll have to see. Another talented Championship player is Jed. These players all suit the description of the many talented Championship players that West Brom has.

Despite interest developing in the striker, Farke has claimed that Bamford is part of his strategy to take the Whites return to the Premier League. “It’s beneficial for him that he is, since several weeks or so, back in the team training and works on his fitness level, sharpness,” he added.
