Beren Cross gives ‘priceless’ verdict on Leeds board member amid Elland Rd redevelopment plans

Beren Cross feels Peter Lowy could be “priceless” at Leeds United when Elland Road expansion plans are finalized.

The Whites have been eager to commence stadium development, and 49ers Enterprises is ready to move forward [Phil Hay, October 2023].

With that said, Cross wrote for LeedsLive on September 19 about how Lowy can be influential in completing the project.

He stated how the Australian is one of 49 Enterprises’ largest investors and was previously the CEO of Westfield Group, which helped the shopping center network become a global organization.

Cross reported that the businessman is set to be “an important voice” in the reconstruction, with the journalist claiming that his knowledge might be “priceless” to Leeds as they attempt to boost Elland Road’s capacity to 53,000.

Leeds United will press Elland Road development proposals.

The Whites look to have finally found the right people in the right locations to support the stadium’s restoration.

Elland Road improvements have been proposed throughout the years but have yet to be implemented, but change appears to be on the horizon.

This would be fantastic for the club and might coincide with a successful season if Daniel Farke has his team battling at the top of the Championship.

It might have appeared that falling out on promotion against Southampton would have terminated stadium construction plans.

That does not appear to be the case, and the process could possibly begin concurrently with the Whites’ promotion to the Premier League this season.

The defeat to Burnley last time out was an early setback, but there were things to take against a recently relegated side, and Leeds had gone unbeaten in the league before that.

Following Cross’ latest decision on rebuilding plans, there is still plenty of reason to be optimistic on the pitch, as well as off the pitch.
