Four days after their epic win over Liverpool, Nottingham Forest fans are still ecstatic.

The Reds won at Anfield for the first time since 1969, and Nuno Espirito Santo will never forget it.

Forest won the day thanks to a goal from Callum Hudson-Odoi on 72 minutes, and the delight was written all over his face.

The Reds need to strive to put this game behind them and generate a same level of effort at Brighton on Sunday.

Forest have had a fantastic start to the 2024/25 season, winning twice and drew twice in their first four games.

The Liverpool game will be remembered for a long time, and fans may now be dreaming of a very spectacular season overall.

Ben Foster forecasts where Nottingham Forest could finish in the Premier League

This is not the first time Foster has praised Forest; earlier this season, the former England goalkeeper complimented Espirito Santo.

Now, the player-turned-pundit has explored what the future may hold for Forest following the Liverpool match.

He told the Cycling GK podcast: “It’s difficult for them because there are so many good teams in the Premier League.”

“Realistically, for Forest, if you can go somewhere between ninth or tenth, I’d go as high as 14th.

“I think that’s a fantastic season for Forest.”

Forest must take each game as it comes in the Premier League.

Clearly, Espirito Santo has worked relentlessly over the preseason to instill his values in his group.

The recruitment plan this summer has the advantage of providing the head coach with at least two alternatives in every position on the field.

Forest must remain grounded, which might be difficult after victory at Anfield, and focus on each game that lies ahead.

Foster is right, however. When the 2024/25 season ends, Forest will hope to be in the mix with a few other clubs for first place in the bottom half.

Finally, with only four games into the season, any talk of a likely finish is premature.

However, the early signs are promising, and this could finally be the season in which Forest avoids relegation and becomes a comfortable mid-table Premier League club.
