‘At least’: Pundit informs Leeds how much they must pay to have a chance of signing Gabriel Sara from Norwich

Leeds United are interested in signing Norwich City midfielder Gabriel Sara this summer, but he is expected to be pricey, as Carlton Palmer estimates his fee.

Sara, 25, shone for Norwich last season. Sara was named to The Championship’s Team of the Season and is regarded as one of the greatest players in the division, having contributed 25 goals from midfield last season.

Norwich are in a position where they must sell one major name in order to generate revenue. The Canaries are in a vulnerable position, nearing the end of their three-year parachute payments.

The reduction from second to third year is frightening, and by next summer, they will be gone completely. So, one huge name must be sold to bring in some money at Carrow Road, and Sara could be the one to go.

Leeds’ lowball offer for Sara has been rejected; £20 million fee suggested.

According to reports, Leeds has already sat down to negotiate and made an offer for Sara. However, Johannes Hoff Thorup’s team swiftly rejected the little £5 million fee, which is understandable.

Graeme Bailey has told LeedsUnited.News that if The 49ers want to get Sara to Elland Road, they will have to pay a high £20 million charge for his services. Carlton Palmer stated that Leeds must bid at least £10 million.

He told FLW, “It’s one of those.” Leeds have received £25 million for Summerville, but they would not want to spend the majority of that money, as good as Sara is, on someone who is older than the player being sold.

“They may return with a better offer, but it may still fall short of Norwich’s request for £20 million. If they don’t make a better offer of at least £10 million, I believe they’ll look elsewhere.”

Sara would be an amazing signing for Leeds, his manager said so

Thorup, who succeeded David Wagner who failed to lead Norwich to promotion, believes Sara would be an excellent addition to Leeds. Thorup is already impressed with Sara’s performance in the play-off semi-finals against Leeds, which resulted in a 4-0 defeat.

The new Norwich manager has made measures to keep Sara, including giving him the captain’s armband for much of the club’s preseason campaign. Thorup called Sara “amazing” when discussing the star’s potential.

Finally, if Leeds is going to acquire their guy, they will have to pay a high price. Especially since Norwich will be aware that Leeds have made over £80 million from player sales in the last two months.
