Tottenham have recalled defender Japhet Tanganga from his loan spell at Augsburg and are currently working on loaning him out to a Championship club for the remainder of the season.
That is according to Dan Kilpatrick of the Evening Standard, who claims his loan arrangement with the Bundesliga team was terminated after he failed to make a single appearance for them.
According to reports, the club is currently preparing to move him to the Championship for the second half of the season.
Tanganga’s current deal is slated to expire in the summer, although Spurs have the option to extend it for another year. Fabrizio Romano has remarked that the team hopes to find a quick solution for the player.
He is an academy product who made his way up to the first squad but has since struggled to establish himself, owing primarily to injuries.
With his contract expiring in the summer, the 24-year-old has one final chance to prove Spurs his potential. His performance during the impending loan period will most likely determine his future with the club.
