The Tottenham manager was asked if he is considering recalling loanee Manor Solomon from Leeds United.
Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has stated that he does not want to recall Manor Solomon from loan club Leeds United this month, despite his strong play.
The winger has two goals and three assists in his previous four games, with both of his goals coming in his two most recent appearances. Spurs sent Solomon out on loan this summer after he missed the most of last season due to a meniscus tear in his right knee, which required surgery.
The attacker has regained his footing at Elland Road after recovering from a hamstring injury earlier in the season. He presently has four goals and five assists in 21 matches.
Tottenham are presently 15th in the Premier League rankings, having lost 12 of their 22 games thus far. Despite their terrible showing, the club has brought in reinforcements this month, with goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky joining from Slavia Prague and right-winger Min-hyeok Yang joining from the K-League in South Korea.
There had been speculation that Postecoglou may decide to recall any of his left wingers on loan, particularly Solomon and Bryan Gil, who is currently at Girona for the season. When asked if either would be recalled, Postecoglou responded bluntly: “No.”
Solomon joined Tottenham in the summer of 2023, only days after Postecoglou’s appointment as head coach was revealed. If the Australian is relieved of his duties, Solomon’s future at the club could be jeopardised.
Speaking to LeedsLive and other reporters after United’s 2-0 win against Norwich on Wednesday, Solomon said: “I’m extremely delighted that in the last two months I’ve felt considerably better and I’m feeling pretty fantastic. And I’m glad that my boss [Daniel Farke] has given me confidence and allowed me to play my game. “I just want to show the results.”
He continued, “I’m feeling extremely terrific, like I’m back to myself. I’m feeling joyful and confident. My injury is fine right now, and I’m recovering, so I’m delighted. I believe I can go further, and I simply want to keep going like this.”
