Tottenham Hotspur received inquiries from over four potential bidders over their midfielder, Pape Matar Sarr.
According to trade specialist Fabrizio Romano, despite strong interest in the kid, Spurs turned down all offers because manager Ange Postecoglou considered Sarr ‘untouchable’ from the start.
He stated (per Last Word on Spurs):
“Tottenham Hotspur received more than four approaches this summer for Pape Matar Sarr.”
“Despite strong interest in talented midfielder, Spurs head coach Ange Postecoglou considered him untouchable since the very first day one.”
The 21-year-old has acknowledged that he wants to stay at Tottenham for as long as possible.
And this month, he formalized his commitment by signing a new contract that extends his term until June 2030.
He’s having a breakout season under Ange Postecoglou, establishing himself as one of the top names in his starting lineup. So far, he has 20 appearances, three goals and two assists.
And he was the star player for Spurs again against Brighton, kicking off the comeback with the equaliser.
