Alex Crook feels it will be “interesting” to see if Leeds United sack manager Daniel Farke following their play-off defeat.
Leeds failed to return to the Premier League after losing 1-0 to Southampton in the final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday (May 26).
Given the fickle nature of football, some are already demanding for Farke’s dismissal as a result of his failure to advance either automatically or through the play-offs.
On talkSPORT’s Premier League All Access podcast [27 May], reporter Crook commented: “There will be a lot of Leeds fans calling for a managerial change, and it’ll be interesting to see which direction they go in.”
Leeds United must retain Daniel Farke
Farke was appointed last summer after successfully taking Norwich City to the Premier League three times.
The German will be as frustrated as everyone that he did not re-sign this incredibly talented Leeds group at the first opportunity.
The bottom line, however, is that 90 points were insufficient for a top-two finish this season, which is unusual in the second tier.
The Whites defeated Norwich in the play-off semi-finals before facing a difficult Southampton side that also scored 87 points.
