The Reds have six games to prevent relegation from the Premier League.
Following a four-point deduction by the Premier League, an Al aimulator sealed Nottingham Forest’s Premier League fate.
An independent committee fined the Reds for violating the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR), and the club has appealed the judgment. Everton, however, have been punished twice and deducted eight points.
Forest are currently 17th in the table, tied on points with Luton Town, who are one spot below, while Everton are only two points clear of the relegation zone. Nuno Espirito Santo’s club has six games remaining to prevent Premier League relegation.
Grosvenor Sport’s Al simulator feels that the four-point deduction, which is being appealed, will mean the difference between safety and relegation. The simulator examines current form, previous and upcoming match results, expected goals (xG), and in-game performances.
After running the simulator over 5,000 times to determine the most likely outcome of the final Premier League table in May, Luton are expected to keep their Premier League status if Forest’s appeal is denied.
The Premier League has set a May 24 deadline for both Forest and Everton’s appeals. Having said that, the Toffees are expected to finish 16th, just two places lower than they would have finished without the points reduction.
Luton are anticipated to finish with 30 points, a new low for a team avoiding relegation. West Bromwich Albion set the previous record of 34 points in the 2004/05 season.
Arsenal are expected to win the league title for the first time since 2003/04, beating out Liverpool on goal difference in Jurgen Klopp’s last season. Manchester City would miss out on a historic fourth title in a row, finishing one point behind Arsenal and Liverpool.
Tottenham are expected to finish fourth, edging Aston Villa by three points.
