Adam Pope exposes the ‘harsh’ reality of Josuha Guilavogui at Leeds United following Millwall disaster

Josuha Guilavogui had a horrible game against Millwall last time out, as Leeds United were knocked out of the FA Cup by Alex Neil’s team.

Millwall came to Elland Road and left as merited winners, moving on to the next round of the FA Cup at the expense of Leeds United, who can now focus solely on the league.

Leeds performed poorly against Millwall. However, Daniel Farke made ten changes to the XI that defeated Coventry City 2-0 in the previous game, bringing in numerous periphery players, notably Josuha Guilavogui.

However, Guilavogui failed to impress against Millwall. Many believe the Frenchman should have been sent off for a horrific tackle in the first half, but he stayed on the field until the 69th minute, when he was replaced by Ao Tanaka.

Leeds United signed Guilavogui on a free transfer in October. Farke sorely needed midfield options after Ethan Ampadu’s injury, and former France international Guilavogui has now played 13 Championship games for the Whites.

Adam Pope provides a brutally honest appraisal of Josuha Guilavogui after Millwall.

On the Don’t Go To Bed Just Yet podcast, BBC pundit Adam Pope spoke on Guilavogui’s position at Leeds United following the game against Millwall. However, the 34-year-old midfielder’s situation is not favorable.

Pope delivered what he called a ‘harsh’ evaluation of the seasoned Frenchman, stating, “He was free. When you put in a freebie like that, you basically receive what you paid for, which is nothing.

“That’s really harsh and I don’t mean it that way, but I’m just trying to put it in a bit of context.”

Guilavogui signed a contract that will expire at the end of the season and appears to be a free agent again this summer.

What Daniel Farke stated about Josuha Guilavogui’s future with Leeds United

Farke recently shared his thoughts on Guilavogui’s future at Leeds United. The German, however, hesitated to speculate on Guilavogui’s future prospects.

He stated, “There is currently no time to be distracted by contract negotiations. We signed Josh late, so it was time to concentrate.”

Farke made the following statement afterwards: “There is no time to waste energy about individuals or what happens in the next six months, we’ll have some proper conversations when it’s time to do this.”

With Leeds United in first place in the Championship table and looking like they’ll be promoted to the Premier League, contract discussions are likely to be put on hold until the season is over and Leeds knows which league they’ll be playing in next season.

On Tuesday night, the Whites face Watford at Vicarage Road in Championship action.
