According to Adam Pope, “several players” may miss Leeds United’s match against Millwall because their partners are expecting kids.
The BBC journalist posted the update on his personal X account [15 March] after attending Daniel Farke’s pre-match press conference.
Leeds have a two-week hiatus between games following their match against Millwall at Elland Road, so the timing may be ideal.
“Several athletes’ partners are expecting infants this or next week. “Hope everyone is available,” Pope tweeted.
Leeds play Millwall in a major confrontation at Elland Road.
Farke announced during his press conference that Pascal Struijk has suffered a relapse and may now miss the rest of the season in a major blow.
Jamie Shackleton and Jaidon Anthony are both eligible to face Millwall, so there are more choices to choose from.
It is unclear which players may miss the match against fierce rivals Millwall.
If the partners in issue could wait until Sunday evening, that would be ideal for everyone involved!
The Leeds squad has been stretched to its limits, but they show no signs of giving up in their quest for a top-two finish.
If they can beat Millwall by a couple of goals, they will go into the international break at the top of the Championship.
If you can achieve that, several Leeds players will have twice as much reason to celebrate in the next week.
